So I put the nanoblok near the rear speaker and asked my wife to park at open carpark. When she return from work, to her surprised, the foul smell was gone.

Namun, bagi sesetengah orang, kepelbagaian aroma yang bercampur baur adalah satu bentuk gangguan yang boleh memberi tekanan.
Menurut kajian terbaru yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal perubatan keluarga The Annals, sebenarnya ramai orang yang sensitif dengan bauan yang menusuk hidung dan tertekan kerananya.
"Tahap kimia yang rendah menjadikan ramai orang berasa sensitif dengan bauan yang bukan berasaskan semula jadi," kata pensyarah di Pusat Sains Kesihatan, Universiti Texas, Amerika Syarikat, Prof. Dr. David Katerndhal.
Sementara itu, menurut data Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) pengeluaran kimia di seluruh dunia meningkat hingga empat peratus setahun.
"Dianggarkan dua peratus manusia menderita gara-gara bauan yang terhasil daripada kimia pewangi. Menurut pemerhatian saya, seramai 10 peratus daripada 400 responden dewasa tertekan dengan bauan yang terhasil daripada bahan pewangi kimia.
"Dalam kes yang lebih berat, selain mengalami tekanan, mereka juga cenderung untuk mendapat gangguan lain seperti bronkitis, asma, radang paru-paru, resdung, hipertiroid dan migrain.
"Begitupun, sehingga kini, penyelidik masih lagi belum mengenal pasti kelompok kimia manakah yang paling kerap mengganggu keselesaan orang ramai.
"Sebagai pengguna, jika anda berasa tidak selesa dengan bau pewangi di sekitar anda, segeralah beredar untuk menyedut udara yang lebih menyegarkan," katanya.
EKSTRA: Kandungan nikotin dalam rokok sememangnya boleh memberi kesan tenang kepada penghisapnya. Ketika rokok dihisap, nikotin bekerja seolah-oleh memberikan rasa relaks dan nyaman. Tidak hairanlah ramai yang menyimpan keinginan untuk sentiasa merokok.
Namun, tahukah anda, kebiasaan merokok sehingga 20 batang rokok sehari boleh memberi risiko pendarahan otak sehingga tiga kali ganda kepada perokok?
Menurut satu kajian di Korea Selatan, penyelidikan terhadap 426 kes pendarahan otak antara tahun 2002 hingga 2004, majoritinya berpunca daripada tabiat merokok.
Tujuan wangian hanyalah untuk menghasilkan bau wangi pada si pemakai, barangan kegunaan peribadi atau udara di sekeliling selain menjadikan pakaian berbau "bersih", kosmetik "cantik" dan peralatan rumah "terjaga".
Wangian juga menambahkan rasa "bersih" apabila menggunakan produk kebersihan diri terutamanya selepas mandi.
Namun, kebanyakan kita tidak menyedari yang ia boleh mendatangkan bahaya kepada kesihatan terutamanya bagi wanita mengandung.

To evaluate whether emissions of a commercial air freshener produced acute toxic effects in a mammalian species, the authors allowed male Swiss-Webster mice to breathe the emissions of one commercial-brand solid air freshener for 1 h.
Sensory irritation and pulmonary irritation were evaluated with the ASTM-E-981 test. A computerized version of this test measured the duration of the break at the end of inspiration and the duration of the pause at the end of expiration--two parameters subject to alteration via respiratory effects of airborne toxins. Measurements of expiratory flow velocity indicated changes in airflow limitation.
The authors then subjected mice to a functional observational battery, the purpose of which was to probe for changes in nervous system function. Emissions of this air freshener at several concentrations (including concentrations to which many individuals are actually exposed) caused increases in sensory and pulmonary irritation, decreases in airflow velocity, and abnormalities of behavior measured by the functional observational battery score.
The test atmosphere was subjected to gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy, and the authors noted the presence of chemicals with known irritant and neurotoxic properties. The Material Safety Data Sheet for the air freshener indicated that there was a potential for toxic effects in humans. The air freshener used in the study did not diminish the effect of other pollutants tested in combination. The results demonstrated that the air freshener may have actually exacerbated indoor air pollution via addition of toxic chemicals to the atmosphere.
Bahan kimia yang terkandung dalam wangian boleh menyebabkan kesan alahan, asma, kanser, kecacatan bayi dalam kandungan, keguguran, penyakit sistem saraf seperti parkinson, alzheimer dan lain-lain. Ia juga boleh memberi kesan keracunan kepada manusia melalui pernafasan dan sentuhan kulit sama ada secara akut (jangka pendek) atau kronik (jangka panjang).
Kesan keracunan akut biasanya disebabkan alahan seseorang terhadap kimia wangian tertentu, ada individu yang sangat sensitif dan menunjukkan tanda alahan walaupun terdedah dengan bau atau sapuan kecil. Terdapat juga individu yang tidak menunjukkan sebarang tanda keracunan akut walaupun terdedah pada dos yang tinggi.
Keracunan kronik adalah disebabkan penggunaan yang berulang pada tempoh yang lama dan tanpa disedari sehinggalah muncul tanda keracunan.Produk yang memberi kesan langsung kepada sistem pernafasan adalah seperti penyegar udara, semburan wangian badan dan rambut, pengilat kuku dan pelarutnya serta lain-lain.
Semburan, wap atau gas bahan kimia ini akan memasuki saluran pernafasan dan memberi kesan kepada bahagian hidung, tekak, paru-paru dan seterusnya ke bahagian anggota badan lain melalui sistem peredaran darah.
Produk yang terlibat melalui sentuhan kulit pula ialah sabun, syampu, krim, pencukur, peluntur pakaian, barangan kosmetik, detergen, pelembut pakaian dan lain-lain. Bahan kimia ini boleh menjerap ke dalam lapisan kulit dan memasuki aliran darah seterusnya memberi kesan ke bahagian lain anggota badan.
Jadual berikut menunjukkan contoh bahan kimia di dalam produk wangian seperti minyak wangi, penyegar udara, sabun pencuci pinggan mangkuk, pewarna dan pencuci kuku, penyembur rambut, penyembur badan, produk kosmetik, syampu, sabun, peluntur pakaian dan pelembut pakaian, detergen dan potpuri.

Secara amnya keracunan wangian ditunjukkan oleh tanda berikut seperti yang dikeluarkan oleh Pusat Kebangsaan Strategi Kesihatan Alam Sekitar, Kanada pada tahun 1990:
Mata berair, penglihatan berganda, bersin, sesak nafas, alergi rinitis, sinusitis, tinnitus, pening, vertigo, batuk, bronkitis, kesukaran bernafas, ketat dada, asma, anafilaksis, pening, migrain, sakit kepala, disorientasi, kehilangan memori berkala, ketegangan, awan, kemurungan, perubahan tingkah laku, ruam, ekzema, kemerahan, keradangan otot dan sendi, sakit, lemah, denyutan jantung yang tidak teratur dan laju.
